Why are people so fascinated with the death of a celebrity? Is it because we feel a connection to a particular person through their work, or is it simply morbid curiosity? When a celebrity passes away, it seems that people come out of the woodwork to express their grief. Where were these people during this person's life? In some cases, we feel as if we know these celebrities through their movies, television shows, or music, so perhaps we feel like a part of our past is gone.
Unfortunately, the more gruesome the death, the more airtime it gets from the media. They talk about respecting the privacy of the family, as they continue to replay the events leading up to the individual's death. Obviously people are watching, because the Internet is flooded with people trying to get a glimpse of every detail. People say that celebrities are public figures, therefore, every aspect of their lives is in the spotlight. If it were our loved ones, would we want one of the most devastating moments of our lives replayed over and over again for everyone to analyze?
Why do people become more interested in celebrities after their death? If someone wasn't interested in a celebrity during their life, why are they suddenly a dedicated fan? There are celebrities who haven't done anything particularly noteworthy in their lives, yet they are adored by many simply because of their physical appearance.
You don't have to be a celebrity to make a difference in someone's life, and you may never realize the impact that your life has on someone else. Be thankful for the people who have made a positive impact on your life, and let them know how important they are before it's too late!
