There's a series of books that my children actually read without having to be asked. Diary of a Whimpy Kid tells the story of Greg Heffley, a seventh grader who describes, "The lamest life a 7th grader could live." Judging from the sound of the laughter when my children are reading these books, they're anything but lame. This series combines handwritten text and comic book-style illustrations and was nominated for a Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award in 2008 and 2009. Each book is 217 pages, and as my daughter explains, "Kids will crack-up on every page!"
